How can I get cooking oil off the kitchen ceiling?

You are going to have to buy an alcohol based primer, like Zinner. Sold at Lowes. Paint it on over the cooking oil with a roller and let it dry for a few hours. You will need to buy 2 roller covers, because you will not be able to clean the roller cover that you use for the primer. Then repaint over the primer with regular paint.
