Thai Food: Fork or Chopsticks?

Thais do not really use chopsticks often only occasionally with noodles or rice, and yes if you are in Bangkok you will look strange if you use them. Thais use a spoon and fork, but not like us westerners do. The fork is never to go into your mouth, you use it to push your food onto your spoon which is the only utensil you put in your mouth. This is just good Thai etiquette, if you don't do it, people probably won't think much about it because you are a foreigner. A good rule of thumb is, if the server provides chopsticks then feel free to use them, otherwise just stick to the spoon and fork. Hope this helps and have fun in Thailand.

Scary attack this morning, could I be diabetic?

This morning, I had the scariest thing happen. When I woke up I had a rapid heart rate and was shakey...didn't think too much of it, but when I stood up out of bed, I was incredibly weak and shakey, hard to catch my breath when I tried to talk, and literally felt like I was going to fall down. I then began to sweat badly! I'm talking sweat literally soaking my clothes and running down my legs. I looked down and my arms, legs and face were red. Red like I had just gotten out of a hot shower. I felt hungry. I went to the fridge and for some reason, grabbed the OJ and chugged a bunch... within a literally a minute of that, the severe shaking and sweating stopped. My heart rate stayed up for a few more minutes, and so did the red skin, but within about 10 minutes of drinking the OJ, I was fine. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?!?!? I'm freaking out and called my doctor, but if anyone knows what happened to me, please help calm me down.

IMO all jail sentences are inadequate for anyone and any crime. If the study showed that gender is a factor in sentencing then what's the point of having a legal system that is unfair and biased? It sounds like you have a tic. A rather more severe version than normal, but a tic nonetheless. Tics are typically caused by stress (and you do sound like you're stressed) and trying to reduce your stress or relax a little won't CURE you, but should ease things up a bit. I'm not going to say it doesn't sound serious, because it kind of does (although I don't mean to alarm!) and there are many different sorts of tics and several with a medical cause and solution. High blood pressure is definitely something to keep an eye on as a cause -- or at least part of it. I wouldn't worry too much though -- have faith in your doctor and in yourself: modern medicine has come a long way and the body is better at keeping itself in working order than most people give credit to. Ive had a 104.2 degree fever, every inch of my body ached, my nose was completely congested and runny, I couldnt stop coughing, I was disoriented and weak, I was throwing up, and I could not stop shaking. I am positive it wasnt swine flu, and this isnt regular flu season, so what could it be? My doctors office is closed on weekends, as is the clinic, so I would have to go to the hospital, and that costs too much. Web Md was no help, as usual.

Last month I had pancreatitis and my gallbladder removed. I've followed a low fat, alcohol and caffine free diet and have been losing weight steadily. A KC registered possible inbreed is taking a risk - it will probably have deformities or illness in later life. The pup from a mutt sounds like an all round family dog, whereas KC registered WILL probably have inbreed in it. The question says "Reactivity of non-metals decreases down a group. Explain your results from question 2." My results from question two that this is referring to were: The higher the halide is in the group on the periodic table, the harder it is to oxidize (react with hydrogen peroxide or potium permanganate). The halides I used were iodine, bromine, and chlorine. Chlorine is the highest on the group, followed by bromine, and iodine is the lowest. In the experiment I acidified each halide with nitric acid and added potium permanganate. I acidified each halide again and added hydrogen peroxide. The iodine had the biggest reaction and the chlorine had the smallest reaction. So my question is if the reactivity of non-metals decreases down a group, then why did iodine (which is below bromine and chlorine) react more than bromine, and bromine (which is below chlorine) react more than chlorine?

How would you deal with a pastor who regularly brings up his own intellect & insults that of the congregation?

I need to first say that I love my church home, and nearly everything about it. It's a large, diverse church that's doing a lot of things right. Our pastor is awesome, and I've gotten so much deeper in my walk with Christ since joining the church a year ago, but he does have a problem with ego. On a fairly regular basis, he throws into his messages little remarks about his intellect, level of education and that fact that he's attended three seminaries. He also makes a lot of comments during them like, "you'll get that on the way home," and "that's the uneducated version." Another of his favorites is, "Look at your neighbor and say 'I don't know what that is,' after he's mentioned a term that's generally used by bible scholars. Our church is FULL of very well educated members, so this can be very annoying, and for myself it can totally disrupt a prayerful state of mind and focus on the message. I believe that he's aware of this ego problem, because from time to time he'll pray before speaking that God will help him keep it in check, but more often than not he seems unable to (the pastor, not God LOL). Recently, he's gotten on a real roll, though, as we're going into a mid-week series on unearthing the foundations of the faith. If you were a member, would this bother you? Would you do anything about it?

Broken USB ports?

Hi, im running XP on an advent laptop. It has four USB ports. recently i noticed that my mp3 player will only work on one of them and my external HD will only work on two of them. When connected the mp3 player to one of the ports nothing happens but when connectin to the other two that it will not function with it says that the device is not recognized and that there may be no drivers installed for the device. I would however eliminate a problem due to software as it works perfectly fine on one of the ports. My external HD will work with two of the ports, when connected to one of the others it is apparent that it is recieving power from the port as the lights come on on the drive, however the drive is either not recognized or not registered at all. Just wandering if anyone can shed any light on my problem. Thanks in anticipation!!

don't listen to the other guy, mitsubishi's have some of the worst reliability ratings. hondas and toyotas are pretty reliable, although i'm a domestic person myself. if i were looking for a car around that range and i didn't care about speed, i would get a saturn sl2, they're good, solid cars. it's the only car that ever survived my brother's awful driving. if i could spring for a little more i would buy a chevy cobalt, they're pretty stylish and have incredible gas mileage (like up to 35 mpg). i've heard nothing but bad from my friends that got ford focuses, so don't do that, hope this helps!

In a street fight, where should you strike with a round kick?

I'm 16, and have done Taekwondo for 5 years, along with kickboxing, MMA, and a few styles of internal Kung fu. I do anything to avoid a fight, but am wondering where the best place to strike with round kick would be? It's the first kick I throw in sparring, no doubt. I sometimes just use punches (jab, straight, hook, uppercut) and that one kick. In taekwondo we were trained to strike at the ribs, but we all know that tkd is purely for competition. In kickboxing, my instructor taught me to direct the kick behind the leg, as he said it was a knock out spot. I think I would prefer this for a self defense strike, due to the fact it would land faster, and have much more power although I doubt it would be a knockout technique. But, I also like torso directed sidekicks, and train with them the most. So, what do you think would be most effective?

My dogs are destroying my house and i dont know what to do!?

i have four dogs two older and two "pups". the pups have started to be quite the nuisances lately. one pup has gotten into the habit of destroying clothes underwear PJ's anything she can get her teeth on. we've tried different measures including locking the laundry chute and making sure laundry is done regularly but if something is accidentally forgotten she tears it to shreds. she only started doing this when we went away for a month and has progressively gotten worse since we got our new puppy. now the new puppy was never properly trained only knows how to sit and lay down and you have to be forceful (not hit her or anything to get her to listen to you. she has to be afraid or she'll just do her own thing. shes recently started messing in the house she had never done this before one of my older dogs started losing bladder control. I don't know how to break her of this messing in the house habit. she also charges the door as soon as you put your jacket on or your shoes. shes not a small dog and has knocked people down the stairs. my grandmother and cousins are afraid to come over because she is so high strung. i just don't know what to do i cant afford obedience cles and don't want to have to give my babies away but its getting to the point.HELP!

Any idea why I my indash sirius satelite radio would skip over channels that should be there?

I have a factory installed Sirius Satellite radio in my Jeep and for about the last three weeks my radio has been acting funny. I am constantly losing certain stations, when I mean losing I don't mean just lost Satellite reception, i mean my radio does not acknowledge that they are even there. It gets to channel 28 and then one more click goes to 38. I know there are 6 channels in there that i used to get now i don't. So far the only solution I have found is to resend a communication signal from Sirius to the radio. It re updates all the channels and I get them all back. When i turn off my car and turn it back on, they are once again missing. Any one out there experiencing this or have any idea why this is happening? Thanks

How can I get slimmer arms?

I have a problem with my arm flab lol. I'm 5'7 and 125 pounds, I workout everyday. Well when I say workout I do cardio, mostly running daily, some kickboxing, dance, bike riding, etc. I don't lift weights. I am wondering if I should start. I have always had kinda big arms in proportion to my body, they have muscle underneath the fat too, its not all fat. If I lift some light weights will they get even bigger? I want nice slim arms. Ok. I don't know a lot about Hughes area, but i think mostly black people live there. Red Hook East is "black" area, and it is pretty dangerous neighborhood. I heard that Red Hook West is improving and becomes pretty good place to live, but there is a transportation problem in that area (lack of trains, so u need to take a 5 min bus ride to get to the nearest train station). A lot of white ppl move to RH West. Seth Low, Tilden, and Van are "black" neighborhoods. They are not safe and very dirty. If you have to move to one of these places, I think RH West is the best choice. My answer may be offensive to some people, but I just gave some facts about Brooklyn neighborhoods, so take it easy.

Worried I am taking too many pills?

I got my wisdom teeth removed last wednesday. i felt most of what they were doing even though they used the max amount of Novocaine (12 shots) it didn't numb me correctly. He said friday would be the worst but after that i shouldn't have much or even no pain after. saturday the stitches started coming out. sunday morning at six am when i got home from being out (came home early because pain was horrible... but i was two hours away so couldn't get home until then) and the stitches came out completely. then the pain got to be REALLY bad. I took tylenol 3 and three ibuprofen. Since my kids were gone the night before one of their aunts the other at grandmas and werent coming home til After got out of work at 9 sunday night i decided to sleep it off and slept til 2. when i woke up that pain was absolutely horrible so i called the 24 hour emergency line my dentist was the on call dentist and he said he wanted me to come in then and get numbed up. it old him i was unable to because i had to go to work so he said he would get me stronger pain meds. (he had told the nurse to fax a prescription for vicodin, an antibiotic and medicated mouth wash and she decided to put in tylenol 3 and the mouth wash and that's it. he then said he would put me on the vicodin like he wanted me to be on, get the antibiotic and to come in the next day because he said there was no reason i should be in so much pain. Well the pain is still very bad. and I also itch pretty bad from the vicodin. SO I take one vicodin (he gave me 10mg) three ibuprofen and 3 benadryl (i know more than I should but that's the only way to slightly stop the itching) i take all that every 4-6 hours. the pain relief last like 2 hours and the pains not completely gone. Well since sunday I have gone through 9 vicodin. the tylenol three i have 3 left (both prescriptions had 20 in them) i bought the ibuprofen on wednesday which contained 100... i gave my mom like 3 ibuprofen and lost one when i choked on it and i only have 33 left.... the max your supposed to take is 6 a day... its only been a week now. (not even technically)plus lots of benadryl. plus i have to continue my sleep meds or else it can mess up stuff with me. so that's another every night. i would say in total i take 3 vicodin a day, 12 ibuprofen at least a day, probably abut 12 benadryl, my antibiotic four times a day (one each time like im supposed to) but its not helping with pain like i would hope. also all the meds make me not be able to sleep. ill finally get to sleep but wake up every few minutes feeling scared. then after like 2 hours of that i am able to sleep for about an hour and then up at six because i just cant sleep anymore. i am worried i am taking too many meds. i mean al,most 70 ibuprofen in less than a week. its not that i am addicted to the meds at all because they dont have any type of high for me at all, i don't feel anything besides a little pain Relief... but is this too much to be taking and what should i do... i need the meds for pain. i cant go through this pain!

Boxer pushing through mobile home skirting?

My 92 lb boxer has fiugured out that the mobile home skirting is not solid. He will literally "bulldoze" through the skirting and get out. Our cyclone fence does not completely encircle the house because of trees and roots in the way, so we had to start the fence at one end of the mobile home and finish on the other side leaving the very end open with just the skirting in tact. He pushes through the skirting and out through the end that the fence does not cover and when I come home, i see a huge mess. The skirting is all out of the track and pulled away from the house. I need to figure out a way to deter him from getting near the skirting...I have thought about a wireless fence...but from what I have read, it will allow him to access the house area and defeat my purpose. I need help on how or what I can use to keep him from charging the skirting! please help!!!

With my 2nd daughter I didn't get a BFP until I was 10+ weeks along. I was on Yaz. I thought that was the reason why I wasn't getting my period. At about 8 weeks, I tested, just because I felt some of the symptoms- heartburn, exhaustion, etc, but the test was negative. Two weeks later, my husband told me "you know, you look pregnant again." I know the church is true and i have meet with the missionaries 3 times and gone to church 3 times, and i have had countless conversations with one of my friends and her family and i know the church is true, and that the book of mormon is true, and that God revealed the plates to Joseph Smith to translate. And i believe in eternal families, and the atonement of Jesus Christ, that we may be made pure and holy so we can enter in our fathers kingdom. I believe in this and so much more i am just sharing this so you realize i am not some rebellious teenager trying to get back at their parents. I just need help. My parents found the book of mormon in my room and i haven't told them yet because i was waiting for the right time, and they yea.... Well my dad said as long as i am in his house i will be catholic, end of story. I have been praying about it and will continue to. I am 17 almost 18, a senior in high school. I am unsure what i should do now. I am not a member of the church but i want to become one but my parents don't want me too.
